If you have already started with the first bachelor program, you should check if you are admissible for the second bachelor program. If this is not the case, please ask the academic advisor of the specific program for more information about the admission procedure. If you have not already started with the first bachelor program, you also need to check your admissibility for that program.
Combined programs
TU/e also offers so called ‘combined programs’, see the education guides for existing combined programs. Combined programs are programs which are pre-defined. The curriculum is set and already agreed upon between the two programs. If you want to do a combined program you do not always have to execute stage 3, 4 and 5. In some cases, it is necessary to set up the program in more detail and make a planning. Please ask the academic advisor for more information and read the PER of each program for possibilities. The rules and requirements as described however also apply for combined programs (e.g. BSA). Please read the information regarding BSA and the FAQ!
If you have enrolled for two bachelor programs with the intention of doing the combined program, please contact the academic advisors to let them know. This way you can be identified as student for the combined program, so you can be assigned to the right group and receive the correct settings in OSIRIS. Contact the academic advisors as soon as possible.
Binding recommendation on the continuation of studies (BSA)
For each program in the internal double diploma program you will receive a BSA. There are two scenarios:
- You haven’t received a BSA for both programs (starting in year 1 for both programs) OR
- You already received a positive BSA for one of the programs.
Students who start an internal double diploma program need to obtain at least 45 EC of regular first-year courses within their internal double diploma program to be able to continue their studies. Of these 45 EC at least 15 EC major courses of program 1 and at least 15 EC major courses of program 2 need to be obtained.
For scenario 1 this means you must obtain a minimum of 15 EC major courses of program 1, a minimum of 15 EC major courses of program 2 and complete the total minimum of 45 EC with (regular first-year) basic, elective or more major courses.
For scenario 2 this means you already obtained at least 15 EC major courses for program 1. It depends on the courses you place in your internal double diploma program how many more EC you need to obtain. Previously obtained first-year courses that are part of the internal double diploma program count for the BSA norm. However, you always need to obtain a minimum of 15 EC major courses of program 2.
Please make sure your proposed internal double diploma program (see stage 3) is achievable within the BSA requirements as described above. Make sure it is possible to plan (and follow) all the courses necessary for the BSA norm in the first year. If this is not possible you maybe have to change your program or conclude that an internal double diploma program is not possible for the programs in question. Discuss the (other) possibilities with your academic advisor(s).
