2019 and before

The student must pass the professional skills assessment in order to pass the examination for the study component in which the relevant professional skill is embedded. Students receiving unsatisfactory scores on a professional skills test are entitled to the opportunity to retake them in the same academic year.

The student is deemed to have completed the learning outcomes of a professional skill successfully once all three assessments for the professional skill have been completed with at least a passing grade.

The student successfully completes the Professional Skills basic study component once all professional skills assessments have been successfully completed with at least a passing grade.

NB Students taking a basic study component or an elective (not a major study component) in which one or more professional skills are integrated, must take the relevant professional skills test and will receive an assessment of, and written feedback on, the relevant professional skill. However, the assessment of the relevant skill is not part of the Professional Skills basic study component.
