Cohort 2019

The BSc Industrial Engineering has started with a new major program in September 2019.

The new BSc Industrial Engineering program is implemented in phases. In September 2019 the new first year was implemented (year two and year three stayed the ‘old’ program), in September 2020 the second year was implemented (year three stayed the ‘old’ program) and in September 2021 the third year followed. So, in September 2021 the new BSc Industrial Engineering program as a whole is operational. 

A number of transitional arrangements have been drawn up for the transition from the ‘old’ to the ‘new’ Bachelor’s program (see table below).

Note 1! Transitional arrangements for year 2 followed in 2020. Transitional arrangements for year 3 followed in 2021.

Note 2! Be aware that despite the fact that courses have retained the same course code and that only a title change is visible, limited new content may also have been added to the course (see digital studyguide of the relevant course).

Note 3! In Q2 first year students need to choose an elective course. Fundamentals of Algorithmic Programming is a highly recommended elective for students without programming experience. This course is only available for students from the cohort 2019.

The professional skills are part of the program of IE, and have changed in content and set-up in the new program.

In the old program the professional skills were integrated into several 1st year courses. For these skills the follwoing transitional arrangemtns account:

• students passed the course ‘content wise’ but the PRV assessment is insufficient:
  Students receive one extra PRV assessment option. If still insufficient, than students need to follow the replacing major course (see table above) with an extra professional skills assignment related to that particular course.
   
• Students did not pass the course ‘content wise’ and the PRV assessment is insufficient:
  Students need to follow the replacing major course (see table above) with an extra professional skills assignment related to that particular course.
   
• If students did not pass the course ‘content wise’ but the PRV is sufficient:
  Students receive an exemption for the particular professional skill(s) for one year. The training for the PRV Information Skills (1/2/3) will stay valid after passing the training.
