A fail for a CBL case can have different causes. The grade can be due to a fail for either the individual component or the collective component.
- A fail for the individual component
A failed individual component cannot be retaken. During the case, you will receive enough feedback on your individual efforts to enable you to improve your performance in time, if necessary. You may also be prevented from completing the case if you are absent too many times. You will have to retake the case the following year.
If you are unable to pass the case due to personal circumstances, the possibility of retaking the case will be investigated in consultation. If this is the case, contact the CBL coordinator and the academic advisor.
- A fail for the group component
This means that the group has received an insufficient grade for a case from the relevant case coordinator. The case coordinator will then determine how the group can improve their result.
- A fail for a training course
A failed skills training course can usually be retaken in the same quartile as the one in which the training course was first taken. You can contact the trainer for your resit opportunity.
A failed technical training course (these training courses are completed with a grade) cannot be retaken, but a fail for this course can be compensated for with the grades for the other components of the CBL project.
