Transition Arrangements
If you started your bachelor’s program before September 1, 2023, you’ll continue your program according to the corresponding curriculum. If you are or will be delayed in your studies, a transitional arrangement may apply.
Applied Mathematics first year courses
In the new Bachelor College curriculum, the topics of the basic courses are integrated in the core program. This affects the basic courses in the current curriculum. Essentially, only Calculus will remain. Please note that you will only be affected by the implementation of the new curricula if you are or will be delayed. In academic year 2023-2024, we start the transfer to the new curricula by the introduction of new first-year courses and consequently the phasing out of existing first-year courses. This change affects the opportunity to redo existing first-year courses.
To prevent study delay, you can follow a substitute course from the new program if you need to pass an existing first-year course. Please check the table on Canvas for details.
BAM-BAP and BAM-BCS double degree students are affected by changes in two curricula. Please check the double degree tables on Canvas for details on BAM and BCS courses. For BAP courses, please check here or contact the BAP academic advisor.
If you failed a mandatory first-year course and therefore need to take the substitute course indicated in the transition table next year, you do not need to submit a request to the Examinations Committee but can register for the course yourself.
The new PER will offer students the opportunity to switch to the new bachelor curriculum. Please note that this option is (only) recommended for students who have suffered serious delay in their first year. In practical terms, for first year-students, we recommend this option to students who did not meet the BSA standard but are nevertheless allowed to continue their studies. If you consider this option, please discuss this with your academic advisor.
